GMV Exceeds $10 Million! The Anker Power Bank That Even Trump Can’t Put Down is Now a Hot Seller on TikTok in the U.S.
At 8:42 PM Eastern Time on August 12, former President Donald Trump conducted a livestream on the social media platform “X” with tech giant Elon Musk. The event drew over a million live viewers.
Keen observers noticed that during the livestream, Trump used an Anker MagGo power bank, a product from the Chinese brand Anker Innovations. Following Trump’s unexpected “endorsement,” Anker Innovations’ stock price surged near the end of the trading day, reaching a historic high.
According to data from EchoTik, the Anker MagGo power bank and products from Anker Innovations’ brand stores are also experiencing a sales surge on TikTok, with explosive growth expected as the “marketing” event gains traction.
EchoTik data reveals that Anker Innovations has two main stores in the U.S.: the brand flagship store AnkerUS, which primarily sells portable power banks, outdoor power supplies, universal accessories, and projectors; and another store, Anker Innovation, which focuses on digital 3C sub-products such as Bluetooth headsets.
Since AnkerUS joined TikTok Shop in September 2023, it has sold over 330,000 units, with an estimated GMV of nearly $10.5 million. While most sales come from influencer-driven short videos, the brand’s official account, @ankerofficial, is also seeing growing sales, currently accounting for just under 5% of total GMV. Approximately 16.3% of estimated sales come from non-livestream and non-short video channels, including store pages, window displays, and search results.
Among the 65 items sold in the last 30 days, universal accessories dominated sales. In terms of price distribution, products priced under $100 saw the highest sales, followed by those priced between $100 and $200. There is still significant growth potential in the higher price segments.

Among the best-selling items, three of the top four products by GMV are wireless magnetic power banks. The top seller is the affordable Anker 622 MagGo portable charger, which is compatible with various USB-C devices and supports magnetic wireless charging. Its foldable design allows it to double as a phone stand while charging.
Meanwhile, the power bank Trump used was the high-end Anker MagGo, priced at $79.99. With over 3,600 units sold, its estimated GMV is nearing $250,000.
This product is a mobile power bank specifically designed for iPhone 15/14/13/12 models, featuring MagSafe compatibility, fast charging, a smart display, and a foldable stand for easy use and portability. It is ideal for iPhone users who need quick charging on the go and value the portability and compatibility of their charging devices.
In 2022, the global power bank market size reached $13.48 billion, and it is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.3% from 2023 to 2030. This market expansion is largely due to several factors: the increasing popularity of smartphones and other electronic devices, technological advancements leading to higher power consumption, more affordable power bank prices, and the growing reach of online retail platforms. The widespread use of smartphones and tablets is a key driver of this market growth.
The proliferation of the internet and the limited battery capacity of portable consumer electronics like smartphones are expected to continue driving the growth of the power bank market. In recent years, changes in lifestyle have led to increased reliance on smartphones, significantly boosting product sales and fueling ongoing market growth.
Additionally, as renewable energy becomes more important, there is growing consumer interest in portable power banks that use solar and other renewable energy sources. More consumers are seeking eco-friendly power solutions, a trend expected to continue. The popularity of outdoor activities and travel also contributes to market growth, as more people need portable power to keep their devices charged. Overall, with the increasing reliance on portable devices and the demand for convenient and efficient power solutions, the market is expected to continue growing in the coming years.
In the wake of Trump’s “endorsement” of the Anker power bank, some netizens pointed out that every electronic device in the photo was made in China, including the wireless microphone and power bank. The influence of Chinese brands is steadily expanding, with their uniqueness and safety increasingly recognized. According to research by Grand View Research, one-third of the major companies producing power banks globally are based in China. The list includes:
Ambrane India Private Ltd.

Today, “Made in China” is no longer synonymous with “cheap and low quality” or “contract manufacturing.” With the help of TikTok, a content e-commerce platform rich in “Chinese DNA,” more outstanding Chinese brands are poised to go global.
